Objective
To hone core Drupal fundamentals, learn efficient development workflows using the Pantheon Platform and effectively blend them to excel at Drupal development projects.
Overview
This 6-week course builds on Drupal 8 fundamentals to teach developers how to successfully work on multi-environment, team-based projects by effectively leveraging the Pantheon platform. The 64-hour live, online course is taught two times per week in 3.5-hour sessions, with a weekly 4-hour, instructor-mentored co-working lab to build knowledge, skills and confidence.
Outline
Lesson 1: Setting up your project for success (Composer, Terminus)
Lesson 2: Maximizing Drupal's information architecture (Entities, bundles, fields, display modes)
Lesson 3: Maximizing development workflows with Pantheon (Git branching, merging, Multidev environments)
Lesson 4: Search API and Solr
Lesson 5: Integrating Composer with a Drupal project workflow
Lesson 6: Real world Drupal 8 configuration management
Lesson 7: Leveraging Quicksilver Platform Hooks
Class materials
Students are provided access to a class web site that includes reference documents for each lesson as well as screencasts covering many of the key concepts of each lesson.
