Course Goal: Proficiency and confidence using DDEV in day-to-day professional Drupal development.

Looking to move your local development environment to a more modern solution? This workshop dives into a Docker-powered local development environment built on modern principles and designed to be flexible, customizable, and powerful. Hands-on exercises for installing DDEV and its prerequisites on both Mac OS X and Windows 10 Pro, the basics of getting both new sites and existing sites up-and-running, as well as basic, day-to-day DDEV commands will be covered.

Course includes access to a 20+ page handout and more than 10 screencasts demonstrating various DDEV functionality, created specifically for this workshop.

The DCO is a 12-week comprehensive course in Drupal development that provides strong foundations in Drupal best practices through lively instruction, hands on exercises, rich learning resources and co-working lab sessions. This course is designed to help students become entry level site developers and maintainers armed with core understanding of workflows, key Drupal technologies, and how to best leverage the Drupal community.
